Wonder Lions came from behind twice to seal a comeback win over Eleven Lions FC.

The selection

Igbehin Peter was called to earn a start in goal for the first time in weeks, The trio of Akingbade Bonny, Emelike Victor and Adegbite Samson all retuned to the starting XI with wingbacks Sunday Osasu and Ilesanmi Fisayo who last featured and both scored against Saint FC recalled to the starting lineup. Midfield-trio of Afolabi Adeyina, Akinbola Oloore and Ajor Joseph started in midfield while Amaechi Sunday and Okorie Chinedu who both ran riot against Real Ifon FA got the nod upfront.

How it went down

It was a rather slow start for the boys today but not without few chances and we could have taken an early lead in the 5th minute when Amaechi Sunday found himself one on one with the Goalkeeper but his effort was poor and hit directly at the goalkeeper.

Chinedu Okorie who is fresh from wining the June player of the month award before kickoff could have further made a statement in the 32nd minute but he also fired his effort straight at the goalkeeper. The last real chance in the first half fell to Ajor Joseph who fired a decent strike from distance but was unlucky to have hit the crossbar.

Second half

A complete overhaul except the goalkeeper happened just before the restart and the opponent took the shock lead in the 47th minute through Daniel Victory. Aremu Ademola restored parity three minutes after their lead with an outside the box strike.

The 11 lions however went on to retake the lead in the 61st minute with a very fine lob by Olusegun Lanre but the wonder lions wasted no time in clapping back this time after Ibitayo Omolade controls a pass from Ojo Seun nicely and places a fine effort into the bottom corner of the net to make it 2-2.

We went on to take the deserved lead this time with a fine left foot finish from Hassan Musa through an assist by Adepoju Onome. Our lead could have been doubled at the eleventh-hour when Adepoju Onome was fouled in the box, Skipper Ajeyomi Lekan stepped up to take the penalty but his effort was ballooned over the bar to leave the result at 3-2.
