The host fought back from behind to earn an entertaining draw!
Our preparations towards the NLO action this weekend progresses as we earned a draw away at the Ijapo Housing Field. The game started with the host dictating play in the early stages with no clear cut chances created. We later grew into the game and took the lead deservedly with a thunderous strike from yards out by Haruna Yusuf in the 30th minute. We doubled our lead in the 36th minute with another fine goal by Hassan Musa who rounded off the gk and fired into an empty net after being set through by Ilesanmi Fisayo.
The host however pulled one back after the referee awarded a very controversial penalty in the 40th minute after one of our defenders was adjudged to have handled the ball. The host however restored parity few minutes after The second half resumed. We kept pushing for a winner that never came as the opponent’s goalkeeper kept out few chances and we were also denied by the crossbar.
Our preparations continue as we take on FJ football academy tomorrow at the Akure Township stadium by 10 am.
