Wonderxchange FC Fall Short in Narrow Defeat to Adamimogo FC
Selection

Wonderxchange FC made three changes to the starting lineup from the opening day victory over Choice FC. Imoleayo started in goal, with a back four of Omolade, Oluwatosin, Seun, and captain Abass. In midfield, Amuda, Afolabi, and Melody lined up behind an attacking trio of Madu, Damilola, and Mighty. Dotun was a late inclusion after Melody was ruled out due to fitness concerns, while Seun stepped in for the suspended Lekan, and Madu earned a starting nod ahead of Odunayo. The substitutes bench featured Temitope, Oluwatobiloba, Glory, Dotun, Odunayo, Abednego, Sunday, and Chimobi.

Fast Start but Missed Chances

The Lions began brightly at Dipo Dina Stadium, seizing control of early proceedings against Adamimogo FC. Dotun sparked a promising counter-attack, feeding Madu, whose attempt to square for Mighty narrowly missed its target. Moments later, Mighty was brought down in the box, but the referee controversially waved away the strong penalty appeals, igniting early frustrations on the Wonderxchange bench.

Against the Run of Play

Despite dominating the early exchanges, the Lions found themselves behind when Adamimogo FC capitalized on a fortunate bounce, a deflected ball falling kindly to an attacker who nodded into an empty net. The setback grew worse shortly before halftime as Adamimogo doubled their lead with a long-range strike that left Imoleayo stranded. Wonderxchange went into the break trailing 2-0, despite controlling possession for much of the half.

Frustration Mounts

Determined to respond, the Lions pushed forward with urgency in the second half. However, the breakthrough remained elusive. Omolade was clearly hacked down inside the area in the 77th minute, yet once again, the referee turned down the appeals for a penalty. The string of questionable officiating decisions drew visible anger from the Wonderxchange technical area and the travelling fans.

Mighty’s Late Consolation

Persistence finally paid off in the dying moments when Mighty rose highest to head home a consolation goal in the 88th minute. His second goal of the campaign gave the Lions a flicker of hope, but it proved too late to salvage the match, with Adamimogo FC holding on for a 2-1 win.
