Lions made it 3 wins in 3 games with an easy win against Rock Crystal
The selection
Young goalkeeper Micheal Adeniyi who had a game to forget yesterday was retained to be in goal by the gaffer. He had a fine outing today justifying the gaffer’s faith in him.
Wingbacks Osasu Sunday and Fisayo Ilesanmi retained their spots.
Victor Emelike replaced Seun Ojo in defence with Olayemi Bello the only one to retain his place in the middle of the pack. Abednego and Joseph came in to replace Oloore and Crespo respectively.
Amaechi started from the bench with Oluwatobi Dahunsi starting in his place partnered by Musa Hassan.
Down early
Just like in the last game, the Lions once again found themselves trailing early in the game as the visitors drew first blood in the 7th minute. But they got an instant reply as Joseph Ajor scored just 2 minutes later to restore parity.
Oluwatobi Dahunsi gave us the lead in the 23rd minute through a tidy finish. He got his second of the day with yet a better finish than the first just before the referee ended the contest in the first 45 minutes.
Icing on the cake
With changes made at the break, the Lions kept their foot on the gas and kept asking for more. This could have yielded in the 56th minute but Musa Hassan dragged his effort horribly wide with only the goalkeeper to beat. However, Amaechi Sunday finally added to the tally in the 66th minute with a simple finish to make it 4.
Chinedu Okorie opened his account for the day by blasting into an empty net after the opponent’s goalkeeper failed to clear a long ball forward from Afolabi Adeyina.
Amaechi went on to get his second of the day from the penalty spot after Chinedu Okorie was brought down in the box. This completed yet another routine win for the Lions.
