Wonderxchange FA Stage Thrilling Comeback to Defeat Crankshaft FC
Wonderxchange Football Academy kicked off their Ultimate Premier League campaign with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Crankshaft FC at the Olukismet Stadium in Ikere-Ekiti on Wednesday.
Despite trailing twice in the second half, the Young Lions showed great resilience, with Amaechi Sunday playing a starring role, scoring two goals and providing an assist to secure all three points.
What Happened
The match started with both teams being cautious, leading to a goalless first half. However, the second half exploded into life when Crankshaft FC took the lead in the 53rd minute, leaving Wonderxchange FA with work to do.
Determined to respond, the Young Lions found their equalizer in the 61st minute when Amaechi Sunday set up Oyedele Olamilekan, who calmly slotted home to bring Wonderxchange FA level.
Eight minutes later, Amaechi turned from provider to scorer, putting his team ahead with a stunning finish in the 69th minute. But Crankshaft FC refused to back down, equalizing in the 78th minute to set up a tense finale.
However, Wonderxchange FA immediately hit back, and it was none other than Amaechi Sunday who stepped up again, netting the winner in the 79th minute with a composed strike, completing his brace and securing victory for his side.
This win means Wonderxchange FA top the Ultimate Premier League table after the first matchday, edging out Gateway FC, who also won their game but with a lower goal tally.
