Wonderxchange FC Secure First Win with Convincing Victory Over Elebuibon Boyz
Wonderxchange FC registered their first win of the Cool Hopefuls Cup with a commanding 3-0 victory over Elebuibon Boyz at the FC Ebedei Stadium, Sagamu. The Lions dominated the match, scoring in both halves to secure all three points.
Selection
Following the 2-2 draw against Lord’s Favour FA in the opening match, the head coach made four changes to the starting lineup. Seun Ojo, Oluwatobiloba Michael, Mathias Gowon, and Amaechi Sunday were all handed starts, replacing Tobiloba Ajeyomi, Christian Madu, Sunday Emmanuel, and Sunkanmi Adeyeye, who were named among the substitutes.
First Half
Wonderxchange FC started the game with intensity, pressing high and looking for an early breakthrough. The Elebuibon Boyz, who lost their first match 1-0 against FC Ebedei JNRS, looked determined to bounce back and defended resolutely in the opening minutes.
The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Abass Alade found the net with a composed finish, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from captain Lekan Ajeyomi. The goal gave Wonderxchange FC control of the game, while Elebuibon Boyz struggled to create clear-cut chances.
Despite Elebuibon Boyz increasing their tempo in search of an equalizer, Wonderxchange FC’s defense stood firm, ensuring they went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead.
Second Half
The Lions wasted no time extending their advantage after the restart. Just minutes into the second half, Mighty Aderibigbe doubled the lead in the 45th minute with a clinical finish, assisted by Mathias Gowon.
Elebuibon Boyz tried to respond, pushing forward in search of their first goal of the tournament, but poor finishing let them down. Wonderxchange FC remained composed and punished their opponents further in the 67th minute when substitute Sunkanmi Adeyeye made an instant impact, scoring the third goal with an assist from Omolade Ibitayo.
Despite late efforts from Elebuibon Boyz to find a consolation goal, the Wonderxchange FC defense held firm to secure a well-earned clean sheet and a dominant 3-0 victory.
