Matchday 2 ended in disappointing defeat after a below-par performance, bringing an end to the team’s unbeaten run in 2022!
The selection

The trio of Ojo Seun,Sunday Emmanuel and Ajeyomi Olalekan retained their place in the regular back three after their impressive performance yesterday with Terdoo Melody,Hassan Yusuf and Emeka Okorie brought in to start in the midfield, Akpovie missed out due to illness and Osazu earned a start in his place. Omolade started from his usual left wing back and Ucheibe Prince started upfront with Thomas Mathias

The team turned up in the first half with a rather disappointing display as opposed to the brilliant display put up yesterday and went behind after a scramble in the 26th minute. The poor first half prompted a triple substitution after the second half commenced and the team started pressing for an equalizer with an improved performance and the biggest chance came in the 63rd minute when CHINEDU won the ball from a defender and the ball falls freely to THOMAS who was through on goal but shot wide much to the disbelief of the fans and technical crew. They further pressed harder for the equalizer but the opponent’s defense stood tall and quenched all the fire thrown at them till the end of 90 minutes.
