Despite playing out a stalemate, both sides created scoring chances&all that was missing was the finishing touch. The game started quietly with both sides threading carefully. Akpovie Micheal threatened from the right wing in the early stage shooting wide and sending few dangerous crosses into the opponent’s box. Chinedu had a chance in the 17th minute but his effort was too tame to beat the GK. The opponent almost went ahead later on after Emmanuel Yakubu’s tame clearance was intercepted by an attacker who sent a lob over him while he was still retreating back to his area but he had the crossbar to thank for coming to his rescue. The second half was very much entertaining with both sides pressing harder for an opener but denied by solid defensive displays most especially by Ajeyomi Olalekan who made series of interceptions and led the defensive line with a commanding display. However both sides couldn’t find the back of the net at the end of 90 minutes and settled for a goalless draw.
