The gaffer has opted for almost a complete overhaul of the first eleven with Omolade Ibitayo, Femi Ariyo, Femi Olofinjana and Mighty Aderibigbe the only players to retain their spot.

Romeo Victor, Tomisin Ayodeji and Victor Emelike started in central defence. It was Miracle Edwin, the young right back, who got the nod for the right wingback position. Ayodele Omotayo came in to replace Dotun Olafisoye while Chinedu Okorie was also drafted to replace Amaechi Sunday upfront. Chinedu Okorie and Ayodele Omotayo were essential replacements for Amaechi Sunday and Dotun Olafisoye, respectively. The team relied on the experience of Romeo Victor, Tomisin Ayodeji and Victor Emelike to provide a formidable defence.

Injury news: Versatile centre back, Sunday Emmanuel missed out on the trip due to a hamstring injury.

Oluwatobi Dahunsi also just recovered from an injury setback but was not in time to make the trip as well. Both players would have been key additions to the team, and their absence will be keenly felt.
